Our brand is what sets us apart from other colleges and universities. And now, for the first time in UNMC history, we have an official mascot and logo. As of April 2023, we are the UNMC Labs.
Introducing our primary mascot logo – featuring Ellie, a compassionate, loyal and hard-working Labrador Retriever symbolic of the health care professions.
Here’s what you need to know about featuring Ellie in print, on the web and on merchandise.
Color
Our mascot uses three of our primary colors: red (PMS 187), grey (PMS 425 40%) and black. The primary version of the mascot logo uses a red border and is the preferred version. If the mascot is on a dark gray, black or red background, use the white outline. The mascot logo always has a red or white outline. Do not remove the outline.
Official Lockups
Here are the official logo and text lockups. Any deviations from brand must be requested in advance and are at the sole discretion of the Department of Strategic Communications.
Clear Space and Sizing
- The minimum clear space for our mascot logo is defined by the height of Ellie’s nose. No text or other graphic elements should be placed within the bounding area around the logo.
- The mascot should be sized no smaller than 1-inch wide.
Never-Ever Do This
- Distort the proportions
- Change the colors.
- Pair with the emblem.
- Pair with logo text.
- Modify or make any graphic additions to the mascot
- Add any effects like drop shadows
- Remove the outline from the mascot
Apparel
All apparel and other mascot-branded merchandise must be ordered through the UNMC Bookstore and pass review by UNMC Strategic Communications.
